Apply Today for the SE BIO/Plan Competition

Southeast BIO (SEBIO) is now accepting applications for its Third Annual BIO/Plan Competition through March 30, 2009. The year-long program has been designed and developed to help promote the creation of new, venture-attractive life science companies based in the Southeast.

Here is how the BIO/Plan Competition works:

    *  Investigators/entrepreneurs will first complete a short application outlining their concept and the opportunity. By virtue of the application and selection process, Applicants will gain exposure to the venture capital, technology transfer and life sciences industry support communities.

   *  A selection committee will then choose approximately 10 Semifinalists and pair each with a team of mentors, which will include professionals from active venture funds, entrepreneurs, and service providers with relevant start-up expertise, to further develop the concept over a several month period and surround it with a first-class business plan.

    *  The finished plans will be submitted to a panel of experts and approximately 4 Finalists will be selected.  The Finalists will present their plans to the full conference audience at the 2009 SEBIO Investor Forum and a winner will be chosen.  The winner will be awarded a substantial prize with which to launch the enterprise and implement their business plan.
