Michelle Garbiras

Michelle Garbiras is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the MUSC Foundation for Research Development (MUSC-FRD)   Previously living in Atlanta, Michelle worked for a large, regional Public Accounting Firm, Moore Stephens Tiller, LLC, in both the Sandy Springs and Gwinnett offices.  While there, she worked primarily in tax, but also had engagements in compilation and review work as well. Her experience includes everything from corporate to individuals to non profits, as well as many other industries.

Prior to Atlanta, Michelle lived and grew up in Louisiana where she attended Louisiana State University.   She received a B.S. in Accounting and later tested and received her license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant.  She is currently a member of the Georgia Society of CPA's as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Michelle and her family relocated to Mount Pleasant from Atlanta to take on a wonderful opportunity for her husband who lives his dream working as a golf professional.  They have three girls who are enjoying discovering every part of the Lowcountry!  In their spare time, they enjoy playing golf and having quality family time, and of course, cheering on the LSU Tigers!
