The Medical University of South Carolina recently hosted stars from the popular Discovery Channel TV show, Mythbusters.  The show starring special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who use basic elements of the scientific method to test the validity of various rumors and urban legends in popular culture.

The episode featuring MUSC examined the use of a functional Magnetic Resonance Imager (fMRI) in lie detection.  This technology was invented by an MUSC researcher, and licensed by the MUSC Foundation for Research Development to Cephos Corp.
