Dr. Ryan Fiorini

Dr. Ryan Fiorini is the Licensing and Technology Analyst for the MUSC Foundation for Research Development (MUSC-FRD).  Dr. Fiorini began the persuit of his love of science at St. Norbert College in Green Bay, WI where he received his bachelors of science (BS) and love of the Green Bay Packers, in 2000.  He obtained his Ph.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2005, followed by his MBA from the Citadel and his Master in Health Administration (MHA) Certificate from MUSC in December of 2007.  As the licensing and technology analyst for the MUSC-FRD, Dr. Fiorini is responsible for analyzing the marketability, scientific merit and potential commercialization of technologies conceived at MUSC.  Additionally, he works closely with a number of industry representatives to facilitate the licensing of MUSC technologies to corporate entities including major pharma, and diagnostic and medical device companies.  He is an active member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, and serves as an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston Biology Department.

On his time off from working, Dr. Fiorini enjoys playing golf and ice hockey.  Growing up in Michigan, Ryan has played hockey since the age of 4, including 4 years (1996-2000) of semi-professional hockey for the Green Bay Deacons, in the Great Lakes Hockey League.  After the 1999-2000 season, Dr. Fiorini moved to SC and ever since has refereed, coached and played hockey in Charleston at the Carolina Ice Palace
